MacDonald Training Center is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Florida Department of Transportation contract to package and ship SunPass transponders for the State of Florida! This contract is for a period of three years with three additional one-year renewal options. The SunPass project will allow individuals served by the Center to learn valuable and marketable employment skills that will enable them to successfully work in their communites.

This project will kick-off a new phase and philosophy of Adult Day Training at the Center. Rather than perpetuating the myth that individuals with disabilities aren't capable of learning the skills necessary to work successfully outside of a sheltered environment, the goal of the SunPass program is to provide necessary vocational skills and peer support that will prepare individuals for community employment.

As an added bonus, this contract will enable MacDonald Training Center to apply for and receive ISO-9000 registration. ISO is the International Organization for Standardization. This organization sets process and quality assurance standards for manufacturing and other industries that ensure consistent and high-quality results. Although the Center is not ISO registered at this time, we look forward to updating you when we have completed our implementation and do receive our registration confirmation.
